FNO 3.5 Full Release
Version 3.5.1.4    1st December 2005
Posted on: Dec. 01 2005,11:39 by jearle

This is the new FNO3.5 full release.

Link to Download Application:
Windows 98, Me, 2000 and Windows XP (16.7M)

If you have had a trial version of FNO3.x before then this download will reset your 30-day trial license, allowing another 30 days to try out FNO3

Existing Users:
If you are an existing user and using Windows 2000 or Windows XP then you do NOT need to uninstall your existing version.  This new 3.5 release will update the existing 3.4 version currently installed.

If you are using Windows 98 or Windows Me then you must uninstall FNO3.x and reboot Windows before installing FNO3.5. Uninstalling will not remove your settings or notes.

IMPORTANT:  If you have installed the "file detection service" with your current version of FNO3, then its vital that you say "No" to uninstalling the file detection service when prompted.  Otherwise, you will need to reboot after you uninstall file detection, select Custom when you install FNO 3.5, reboot after you install, and then reset your file detection options.

New Features

1. The latest Outside-in v8.0.1 Document Viewers are now included.

2. A number of bug fixes and improvements to current features are included.

3. A new video playing component is included.  This was included in the 3.4 maintenance release.

See New Features and Product Information for more information concerning recent changes and product history.

When Is Network License Required
Posted on: Feb. 21 2005,07:05 by jadjei

QUOTE
Does the single license allow me to install File notes on both my laptop and desktop computer...?

Yes.  Your license covers your FNO use for home, laptop and work computer.  If you use it on any two network computers, even your home network, you will trip our Network License sensor.  If you do, you must purchased and installed our Home Network User upgrade [available only for users who have previously purchased a stand alone FNOPro license].

Enable Auto-Detect
FNO Icon Does Not Appear In Tray
Posted on: Sep. 13 2004,13:43 by jadjei

After installing File Notes Organizer, if you find that your File Detection Service is not working (no FNO Dice icon in your system tray), this probably occurred because you chose the Typical Installation option rather then Custom Installation.

To correct this problem, you will need to uninstall FNO using your Control Panel "Add Remove Programs" utility.  Then reinstall FNO, choosing the CUSTOM Installation [not TYPICAL Installation] option.  Then, after your restart FNO, right click on the FNO Dice Icon in your tray and tell FNO what folders and file types you want to Auto Detect.

File Detection Services was removed from the Typical Installation routine when conflicts with AutoCAD 2005,  PerfectDisk and some versions of Photoshop CS were reported.

FNO will not automatically detect until you tell it what folders and what file types you want it to monitor.

Just right click on Dice Icon in the tray and then select check boxes to tell it to monitor Opened and/or Saved files and then tell it what folders and file types.
