File Notes Organizer 3.5 Makes Paperless Customer Service And Document Management Easy And Affordable

(December 1, 2005) AtLast! Solutions has released File Notes Organizer 3.5, a program for the Windows operating system that makes it easy to organize all of your customer and project files and records on network desktops using its Windows Explorer-like interface enhanced with optional columns, memorized layouts, and virtual file collections.

If instant network access to all of your records is something your company needs to implement, AtLast’s new File Notes Organizer 3.5 offers an affordable and easy solution. File Notes Organizer works just like Windows Explorer so training is minimal. All columns can be sorted, just like Explorer, but File Notes Organizer adds filtering, a built-in viewer and basic information management capability, so everything your staff needs is immediately available, on-screen, after typing part of a name, phone number or address into the filter. The quick viewer supports more than 200 file formats, so every record can be viewed, highlighted, annotated, indexed and color-coded using its annotation tools.

System setup is as easy as naming and arranging the extra data columns to suit your needs. Column layouts are memorized, meaning any existing paper file or information system can be permanently modeled in a network folder in just a few minutes. Popular search programs like Window’s Search, Powerdesk’s File Finder, X1 and Yahoo Desktop Search can be used inside of File Notes Organizer to assemble search result lists in virtual project collection folders for project research, presentations or in preparation for batch indexing. Collections can be assembled in seconds and take up no new disk space because they are virtual files, not duplicates.

An important benefit of File Notes Organizer use is that all documents, notes and layouts are automatically saved along with every network backup. That means your business can be up and running at an emergency location in a matter of hours should the need ever arise. Security alone makes the paperless effort worthwhile.

A network trial version of the software may be downloaded and used free for 30 days.

File Notes Organizer provides the easiest and most cost effective digital information management available today. It saves time and makes everyone more productive immediately. Its low cost, short learning curve and powerful features assure your company’s transition to paperless will be easy and affordable.

System Requirements

File Notes Organizer 3.5 requires Windows 98/Me/2000/XP, 64MB of RAM, an 800 X 600 graphics display, and a Pentium 200MHz.

Virtual File Folders Break New Ground For The Windows Explorer File Management Model

(May, 2005) AtLast! Solutions has released File Notes Organizer 3.4, adding virtual folders, improved bookmarks, new dual monitor presentation technology and updated viewers to its Windows file manager and presentation software.

File Notes Organizer’s design has always followed the Windows Explorer model, adding optional descriptive note columns, filtering and full text search to Explorer’s limited toolset. Version 3.4 now adds a newly designed virtual folder system that frees users from Explorer’s traditional folder and file hierarchical limitations. Users can now collect and display files in virtual collection folders without regard to what drive or folder the real files reside in.

Virtual collections can be built manually using “copy to” and “drag and drop” or can be assembled using Windows Explorer, PowerDesk. QuickFinder, X1 and Yahoo search results. Users run a search, mark the resulting files and copy them, in the virtual sense only, to a new or existing virtual collection folder. Virtual collections never clutter drives with duplicate files so, over time, File Notes Organizer users experience significant drive resources savings.

File Notes Organizer 3.4 takes its bookmarking utility to a new level, allowing file content, video and audio clips to be created and managed in both real and virtual collection folders. Users mark text, pages, image crops, or video/audio segments, hit the bookmark icon, and a new hyperlinked Windows Explorer-like data row is created. Bookmark rows are identical to real file rows so they can be indexed, sorted, filtered and presented in slide shows along with real files.

File Notes Organizer 3.4 adds network based virtual collections so all authorized network users can now share virtual collections. Notes remain completely portable, but now virtual collections can be zipped and emailed to work groups and colleagues, along with real folder note files, so every team member can be kept current electronically.

Version 3.4 includes the latest Stellent OutSide-In 8.0 viewer technology but substitutes Adobe Acrobat’s Viewer in place of Stellent’s for its primary PDF viewer. Acrobat 5, 6 and 7owners will find their Acrobat toolbars active in the product’s built in viewer pane. Thumbs and bookmarking remain available for PDF, Word, WordPerfect, JPG, TIFF, MAX, MPEG, MP3 and over 200 other file types. Presentations and slide shows can now be assembled and managed on the operator’s monitor with only the slide presentation displayed on the audience’s dual monitor or projection screen.

File Notes Organizer 3.4 improvements were designed to enhance productivity for every user.

File Notes Organizer 3.4 requires Windows 98SE/Me/2000/XP, 64MB of RAM, an 800 X 600 graphics display, and a Pentium 200MHz or higher processor is recommended.

Organize Files, Give Them Meaningful Descriptions, And More

(September, 2004) AtLast! Solutions has released File Notes Organizer 3.3, a program for the Windows operating system that makes it easy to organize files on a variety of media and lets you add descriptive notes to any file or data within a file. You can catalog files on your local or network drives, CD-ROMs, DVDs or even within compressed files. There is no limit to the number of possible notes and the program allows for limitless customization of how you view your files.

File Notes Organizer easily replaces Windows Explorer, adding powerful data management tools, yet remaining extremely easy-to-use. Data management is accomplished by providing several extra data columns, a file viewer, thumbnail displays and the ability to add “bookmarks”. File Notes Organizers bookmarking system is both flexible and portable; notes that you make on your home computer can be sent to your email at work and easily used there, or shared with colleagues and work groups. You can bookmark documents, annotate drawings and images, segment portions of videos, highlight paragraphs, zoom areas of a page and much more.

The integrated file viewer in File Notes Organizer works with a wide range of document and media file formats. Supported document formats include PDF, Word, WordPerfect and over 200 others. The program gives you complete control over all your files and makes every bit of information quickly accessible to you. File Notes Organizer has text searching and filtering so you can find exactly what you’re looking for and with this release comes indexing of Yahoo and X1 Desktop search results.

File Notes Organizer is perfect, for example, in collaborative work environments where multiple people are working on a document. Bookmark notes let multiple people annotate the same document with all comments being viewed in realtime. Notes can even be placed on any given page within a document. Files can be cropped and highlighted without altering the original file. File Notes Organizer also makes it easy to browse files from several different locations at once by letting you place files in “virtual” folders.

File Notes Organizer saves time and makes everyone more productive. Once applied, notes remain with a file so you can copy, move, and even rename files without losing its note. The program can also be configured to automatically prompt you to enter a note each time you save a new file, or download one.

Combined with your scanning solution, File Notes Organizer is perfect for indexing, searching and viewing important paper files and storing them in a format where they can be easily found. With its short learning curve and powerful features the program makes it easy for anyone to keep their files organized.

System Requirements
File Notes Organizer 3.3 requires Windows 98/Me/2000/XP, 64MB of RAM, an 800 X 600 graphics display, and a Pentium 200MHz.

Price and Availability
File Notes Organizer costs $49.00 USD and can be purchased securely online at http://www.filenotes.com/. A 30-day trial version is also available from the Web site.
